Addingtons of Northamptonshire - Design case study 1
The customers requirements were to level the upper part of the garden to enable them to have a use able lawn area for the son to play. The first task was to remove the twenty five tonnes of excess soil and construct the walling(the old level was at the higher sleeper wall hight). They had no other ideas to which walling or paving or water feature.
The reclaimed sleeper wall was suggested because it softens the structure and has a remarkable character as well as sensibly priced. The bold walling structure with led lighting is complimented by the strong lines of the star design circle, a change to the colour of the outer five sized natural stone paving only adds to the multitude of elements which with the 1.2 metres slate mono lift completing the design with the flow of water cascading down the stone highlighting it natural colours.
