How to Plan for a Better Autumn Garden

After a great British summer we often feel compelled to stretch the good vibes out and enjoy them for as long as we can. A good garden area will help us do that, but with Autumn often comes rain, limiting what we can realistically achieve as the nights draw in. Addingtonâ??s, one of Northamptonshireâ??s leading landscape garden specialists, has some ideas to help you make the most of the space available to you this Autumn.

Prepare for Next Year

Rather than the usual mad dash to get everything done next spring, why not start some of the larger projects now to give them time to bed in, in readiness of another glorious summer next year?

Add a pond or water feature

Adding a pond to your garden space, to encourage wildlife habitation, can be quite a major project. However with careful planning, and a touch of flair, you could be enjoying next year with a professionally-installed, well established pond feature which will add a new level of interest and tranquillity to your garden. In case you don’t want to go to the expense of having a pond installed you could think about adding a water feature into the design of your garden. A water feature offers a low maintenance focal point to any garden design, provides the relaxing sounds of running water and they come in a wide variety of designs.

Plan out a patio or decking area

Similarly, having a patio area installed now means by the time you want to use it next summer it is well established and settled. You may even be able to sneak in a couple of barbeques this year, before the cold starts to kick in! Another option is to consider a raised decking area to step onto from the house, in a secluded area of the garden or in an area where sloping ground is a problem.

However you plan on improving your garden, Addingtonâ??s can help. Our design team has experience delivering quality garden and landscape projects, large and small, across Northamptonshire. Get in touch today to see how we can help.
